Spain’s biggest festival plays host each summer to more than 100 artists who come to perform across its 4 stages.
Benicàssim is a small town on the Costa del Azahar situated between Valencia and Barcelona.
The first ever Festival was held in 1995 and has gone from strength to strength and geting bigger and better every year. Next years Festival (2009) will be taking place over the 4 days of 16th - 19th July.
People travel from all over the world to attend the festival and this year (2008) over 140,000 people attended over the 4 days. With fantastic beaches close by, brilliant weather and also the option to camp or book one of the many apartments in and around the area of Benicassim and Oropesa it is not hard to imagine why the festival has become popular with thousands of (sun) worshippers.
What better way to enjoy one of the biggest festivals than watching your favourite acts, then relaxing on the beach with an ice cold drink, with a brilliant waterpark and karting track close by there is always something to do when your not at the Festival.
The line up has not been released yet but it has been rumoured that Oasis will play this year.
Oasis are set to play a series of summer festivals in 2009 according to Virtual Festivals website. They say that the Manchester band fronted by the Gallagher brothers will headline one of the days of the Spanish festival.
Tickets tend to go very quickly once on sale so keep an eye out for them going on release at http://www.fiberfib.com/ You will also get lots of other info from this site, including how to get to Benicassim, previous line ups, and general information on the area.
